Letter from Fr Mark McManus 31st December |
Dear Parishioners of St Joseph's & St Charles, |
Thank you for your generous cards, gifts and Christmas offerings and for all your kindnesses and encouragements over the past year. They are much appreciated.
Although a little different, our beautiful church looked splendid for Christmas. Thank you to the 'bubble' that helped to prepare and decorate it. Our Christmas Masses saw us visited by almost 400 people and because of the work of our church cleaners and stewards, we were ready and able to welcome them. As there is no obligation to the Holyday at present, our bishop has given permission for us to liturgically anticipate the Feast of The Epiphany of The Lord. Therefore, the feast will be transferred from next Wednesday, 6 January, to this weekend's Saturday Vigil Mass, and Sunday Masses, 2 & 3 January. Here are some intentions for prayer and next week's newsletter also. I wish you all the blessings of the holy season and a Happy & Healthy New Year! Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us. St Joseph, pray for us. St Charles Borromeo, pray for us. With my prayers, Rev. Mark McManus Parish Priest |
