Letter from Fr Mark McManus 31st December

Dear Parishioners of St Joseph's & St Charles',

Thank you for your cards, gifts and Christmas offerings and for all your kindnesses and generous encouragements over the year. They are much appreciated.

Our beautiful church looked splendid for Christmas. Thank you to the people that helped to prepare and decorate it, especially our flower-arranger, Marie. Thank you also, to our church cleaners and stewards. One encouraging note is that our Christmas Masses saw us visited by 421 people and, given all that has happened these past two years, I think it compares very favourably with the 445 people who came for the pre-pandemic Christmas of December 2019. Well done to all!

There is a Mass at 11.00am tomorrow, Saturday morning, 1 January, to welcome the New Year and to celebrate the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.

You can deliver the bag to St Wilfrid's after 4 January when they reopen or bring them to church this weekend, 1 & 2 January, (any volunteers please to help deliver them?).

I have attached some intentions for prayer and the details of last week's 2-week newsletter are still available on the parish website.

I wish you all the blessings of the holy season and a Happy & Healthy New Year!

Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us.
St Joseph, pray for us.
St Charles Borromeo, pray for us.

With my prayers,
Rev. Mark McManus
Parish Priest
