Letter from Fr Mark McManus 16th December |
Dear Parishioners of St Joseph's & St Charles, |
The Christmas Masses at St Joseph's Church Christmas Eve 4.00 pm [Vigil Mass] Christmas Eve 7.00 pm [Mass during the Night] Christmas Day 8.45 am [Mass at Dawn] Christmas Day 10.00 am [Mass during the Day] N.B. As permitted, the Gospel reading used at all the Masses will be from the 'Mass during the Night,' i.e. the Nativity of the Lord. Snow, Sin & Cold May I reassure people that missing Mass last Sunday due to the difficulties caused by the ice and snow does not constitute a grave sin that requires confession and absolution. The church is heated for our weekend Masses (and some others too) but the recent weather has left the building feeling very cold so do be mindful and wrap up well. Finally, if you are wearing gloves in church - which is perfectly acceptable - do please remember to remove them before receiving Holy Communion on the hand, thank you. A Retiring Collection For The Christmas Tree & Flowers If you missed last week's collection because of the snow you have an opportunity to contribute this week. Help With The Christmas Decorations Help after the 10.00am Mass this Sunday, 18 December, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Events With St Joseph's School St Joseph's School Readings & Carols Service will be on Tuesday, 20 December, at 2.00pm in church and their End of Term Mass in church will be on Thursday, 22 December, also at 2.00pm. All are welcome. A Consultation By St Joseph's School To Join St Clare Catholic Multi Academy Trust A letter from our school's Governors concerning this important proposal regarding the future of our school. Finally, here are this week's newsletter and intentions. Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us. St Joseph, pray for us. St Charles Borromeo, pray for us. With my prayers, Rev.
