Letter from Fr Mark McManus 2nd June

Dear Parishioners of St Joseph's & St Charles,

I thought I would take the opportunity to post to you earlier than usual. I hope you have an enjoyable Jubilee weekend.

The Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The Mass tomorrow morning, Friday, 3 June, at 10.00am, is for the intentions of Her Majesty the Queen.

The Bishops' Conference has established that, at all Sunday Masses on 4 & 5 June 2022, each parish is to pray for Her Majesty the Queen to mark her Platinum Jubilee by including an intention in the Prayer of the Faithful and by reciting at the end of Mass (after the Prayer after Communion and before the Final Blessing) the Prayer for the Queen. Also, the national anthem will be sung at the 10.00am Mass on Sunday.

Prayer for H M Queen Elizabeth II
O Lord, save Elizabeth, our Queen.
And hear us on the day we call upon you.

O Lord, hear my prayer.
And let my cry come before you.

The Lord be with you.
And with your spirit.

Almighty God, we pray,
that your servant Elizabeth, our Queen,
who, by your providence has received the governance of this realm,
may continue to grow in every virtue,
that, imbued with your heavenly grace,
she may be preserved from all that is harmful and evil
and, being blessed with your favour
may, with the royal family,
come at last into your presence,
through Christ, who is the way, the truth and the life
and who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen

New Altar Servers
There will be a short meeting (half-an-hour) at the church for those interested in becoming an altar server on Saturday, 18 June, at 9.30am. If you cannot attend the meeting but still wish to serve then please speak with Fr M. Candidates for altar serving should have celebrated their First Holy Communion.

Finally, here are this week's newsletter and intentions.

Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us.
St Joseph, pray for us.
St Charles Borromeo, pray for us.

With my prayers,
Rev. Mark McManus
