Letter from Fr Mark McManus 24th June

Dear Parishioners of St Joseph's & St Charles,

Today is the solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and I wish you a happy feast day! As always, I urge you to mark the festal day in some way or other.

Peter's Pence
There is a second collection this weekend, 25 & 26 June, in support of the worldwide ministry of Pope Francis.

Children's Liturgy at Mass
It is hoped that this important aspect of helping children to participate in their own Liturgy of the Word will resume again in September. Experience has taught us that it is particularly helpful in preparing young children in the years prior to their First Holy Communion year, especially in Years 1 and 2. If you would be interested in helping in any way then please speak with Fr. M.

Padley Pilgrimage, Sunday, 10 July
Anybody wanting to participate in the music for the forthcoming pilgrimage to Padley is invited to attend rehearsals on Thursdays 30 June and 7 July from 7.00pm in the Annunciation Parish Centre, Chesterfield (Padley falls within the Chesterfield Deanery). Our parish organist, Christopher Edge, is the musical director for the event and you can speak with him after our Masses this weekend or simply contact him at christopher@cemusic.co.uk for more information.

Finally, here are this week's newsletter and intentions.

Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us.
St Joseph, pray for us.
St Charles Borromeo, pray for us.

With my prayers,
Rev. Mark McManus
Parish Priest
