Letter from Fr Mark McManus 27th May

Dear Parishioners of St Joseph's & St Charles,

Bits 'n' Pieces
The wearing of face coverings, hitherto strongly encouraged, is now to be regarded as optional. Please continue to be aware of others around you and respectful of their personal space. For the time being, the doors of the church will remain open. From next weekend, the Feast of Pentecost, we shall continue heading towards 'normality' by returning to offering the sign of peace. However, this can be by a simple nod or wave and no one is under any obligation to shake hands. Likewise, the holy water stoops will once again be available for your use for when you enter and leave the church. The collection at the Offertory will also resume at Pentecost.

New Altar Servers
There will be a short meeting (half-an-hour) at the church for those interested in becoming an altar server on Saturday, 18 June, at 9.30am. If you cannot attend the meeting but still wish to serve then please speak with Fr M. Candidates for altar serving should have celebrated their First Holy Communion.

Finally, here are this week's newsletter and intentions.

Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us.
St Joseph, pray for us.
St Charles Borromeo, pray for us.

With my prayers,
Rev. Mark McManus
Parish Priest
