Letter from Fr Mark McManus 22nd October

Dear Parishioners of St Joseph's & St Charles,

I know some people find the intentions for prayer useful and I have attached the intercessions for the 31st and 32nd Sundays in Ordinary Time as well as those for All Saints and All Souls.

St Joseph's Cemetery, Handsworth

As November approaches and we especially remember our deceased family, friends and benefactors the annual cemetery maintenance contribution for 2022 is now being sought and the suggested not-for-profit donation for this year remains at £30.00.
Thanks to the dedication and work of a small group of parish volunteers work on the cemetery has continued and this year a rainwater harvesting tank has been put introduced to better enable the recycling of rain water.
Outside of this annual request the only other income the cemetery receives is from the occasional sale of a grave plot and the administration concerning headstones, etc. The majority of these costs therefore are borne by the parishioners of St Joseph's through their Sunday collection (approximately £3,000 to £5,000 a year depending on the work). Your donations to the fund are always gratefully received and you are remembered at any Mass celebrated for the benefactors of St Joseph's.
I would ask that you kindly place your contribution in an envelope together with this return form; cheques should be made payable to St Joseph'ss Cemetery. If you wish to put your envelope in the weekly collection, please label it 'sCemetery Fund's or if you prefer, it can be posted or handed in to this address:
St Joseph's Church Cemetery, 6 St Joseph's Road, Sheffield, S13 9AT
Thank you for your continuing support.

A Mass of Commemoration of the Dead RIP, from March 2020 to present
on Saturday, 12 November, at 10.00am

Here are the names that I have so far been given. If you would like the name of someone who has died during this period to be added to this Mass then please e-mail or hand it to our deacon, Simon, in writing before then. Tea & Coffee will be served afterwards in the school hall. All are welcome.

Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us.
St Joseph, pray for us.
St Charles Borromeo, pray for us.

With my prayers,
Rev. Mark McManus
Parish Priest
