Letter from Fr Mark McManus 16th September

Dear Parishioners of St Joseph's & St Charles,

A Requiem Mass for Queen Elizabeth II RIP, this Sunday at 10.00am:

Please note, at this Sunday's 10.00am Mass:
- There is no Gloria sung at a Requiem.
- The readings will be proper to this Mass and not those of the Sunday:
The Book of Wisdom, 3:1, 6. 9., 'He accepted them as a holocaust.'
The Responsorial Psalm 22 (23), 'The Lord's my Shepherd.'
The Gospel of St John, 12:23-28, 'If a wheat grain dies, it yields a rich harvest.'
- We will sing together the responsorial psalm, hymn number, 806.
- After the post-Communion prayer there will be the antiphon, 'In paradisum' sung and then the prayer of Final Commendation for Queen Elizabeth II. This will be followed by a period of silent prayer.
- We shall conclude with a prayer for King Charles III which will then be followed by the national anthem, 'God save the King.'

Finally, here are this week's newsletter and intentions.

Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us.
St Joseph, pray for us.
St Charles Borromeo, pray for us.

With my prayers,
Rev. Mark McManus
Parish Priest
