Prayers for the Sick and Housebound
Bishop Ralph recently informed us of the sad news that the community of Carmelite nuns at the Kirk Edge monastery have decided that, due to their advancing years, they must leave the monastery which was established here in 1911. The nine sisters will move to other Carmelite communities where they will continue to live their vocation of total dedication to God in prayer and community life. This is indeed a sad time for Sheffield and our diocese for we have been very blessed to have this powerhouse of prayer constantly at work on our behalf. The process of winding down will undoubtedly take a little time and there will be an opportunity to give thanks and offer a farewell at some future date. In the meantime let us keep the Sisters and our Bishop in our prayers.

Here is this week's intentions

Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us.
St Joseph, pray for us.
St Charles Borromeo, pray for us.

With my prayers,
Rev. Mark McManus
Parish Priest
