Letter from Fr Mark McManus 29th March

Dear Parishioners of St Joseph's & St Charles,

There is a retiring collection today in support of the Holy Places - the Christian Shrines and the communities that maintain them - in the Holy Land.

Church Heating
Given the cost, Monday, 1 April, would seem a good day to switch-off the church heating. I know it can still drop cold early in the morning and I shall keep an eye on the early Sunday Mass accordingly but otherwise do be aware it could be a wee bit fresher and dress according to your need. Thank you for your understanding.

Facing the Future
We remember that our bishop asks that we prayerfully consider the future of the Diocese of Hallam and how we best serve the Mission of the Church entrusted to us with the resources that we have available. The questions we are first asked to ponder as individuals or families are:
  1. What are the good signs for your parish that you can see?
  2. What are the concerns you have for your parish?
  3. Where do you see your parish as we enter the year of Jubilee (2025)?
  4. What actions do you think you/your parish need to take?
Here is this week's newsletter and intentions.

Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us.
St Joseph, pray for us.
St Charles Borromeo, pray for us.

With my prayers,
Rev. Mark McManus
Parish Priest
