Letter from Fr Mark McManus 7th February

Dear Parishioners of St Joseph's & St Charles,

Please note that there is currently no internet connection at the presbytery and there may be some delay in replying to emails, etc. I hope to have the matter resolved within the next couple of weeks and I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

A Mass for Harvey Willgoose RIP, this Saturday, 8 February at 10am
Please note that there is likely to be media interest in this Mass (from outside the church property). As many of you are undoubtedly aware, there will probably be a good number of people in attendance - though it is impossible to know how many. Given the circumstances, South Yorkshire Police have been notified.
Our Mass is to be offered for Harvey and his family & friends, for those who witnessed or who were caught up in events, for the two school communities of All Saints & St Joseph's, and for all who have been marked or touched by this tragic incident.
Fundamentally, we are doing what we always do - praying - and I know that we will all be bringing this great sadness to the Lord wherever we may be.

The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick
The feast of Our Lady of Lourdes on Tuesday, 11 February, is also the occasion of the annual World Day of Prayer for the Sick. As we established a couple of years ago, this means that I will offer the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick at the conclusion of this weekend's Saturday Vigil and Sunday Masses.

Here is this weekend's newsletter, and intercessions.

Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us.
St Joseph, pray for us.
St Charles Borromeo, pray for us.

With my prayers,
Rev. Mark McManus
Parish Priest
